Educational Programming
EHSVC is dedicated to offering a rich array of arts programs and events that inspire, educate, and engage Louisville’s diverse communities.
One of our first major initiatives in preserving the artistic legacy of Ed Hamilton is the comprehensive archiving and digitization of his works. Beginning in March 2026, we will undertake the significant task of documenting every piece currently housed in the artist’s studio. This archive and digital catalogue will be available prior to the opening of our new center and will support research inquiries as well as statue recreation requests.
Later this year, we will launch our Artist-in-Residence program, through which Ed will mentor an emerging 3‑D artist, providing a transformative opportunity for a rising talent in Kentucky.
As part of our 2026 programming, we will also begin production on a documentary that not only celebrates Ed Hamilton’s life and impact but also preserves the broader Black art canon of Louisville, Kentucky.
Stay tuned and check back for more updates as we continue this important work.
